Never Give Up Hope - Prerna Rathod

Hope is a rope that is a lifeline for everyone. It is a ray of light when a person is in darkness. Hope makes us believe that nothing is impossible in this world. If you have faith in yourself and are ready to work hard, you can achieve success to complete the impossible task. Hope gives us wings to fulfil our dreams and help us create a path to achieve our goals.

As Educators, we must inculcate this value of hope in our children. Life is very unpredictable, and sometimes we will face failure. So hope is the only thing that will help us to move on and restart our task again. We can give examples of great personalities like Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, Walt Disney, etc., who didn't achieve success in one go. They faced many failures and then got a win. If we tell them their stories, then children will understand the importance of hope in our life.

I would like to give a real-life example. My aunt was diagnosed with cancer. All family members were worried and upset. My aunt was sad, and she gave up hope to live. But then, seeing her children, she decided to go through the treatment and fight cancer as her children needed her. So she took tratment. Though it was painful, she was successful in defeating cancer. She was cancer-free and now is with her family, safe and healthy.

I would like to end with the quote, "Hope is such an energy by which any dark part of life can be illuminated". So let's carry "Hope" with ourselves.

Determination - Bharti Rao

Determination is the positive feeling in us that helps us overcome any obstacle and reach our goal. Determination motivates us to go on further & not to stop. According to Thomas Edison, the inventor of light, when he failed thousand times, he said, ‘I have not failed! I’ve just found 1000 ways that wouldn’t work.’ Many more such great people didn’t stop but reached their goal with their sheer determination.

Many times some horrific setbacks lead people to be determined and live the best of their life. I would like to share my daughter’s story with you all where she showed her determination and achieved her goal. My daughter Vaishali was not so good in her studies, especially her Science & Math. She was also not good at Sports. She never participated in games. She always sat under the tree chatting with her friends under the tree.

Her turning point in her life came after her results of Class X. After that, she was determined to prove herself. She started participating in games and reached State Level in Badminton. She represented JNVU University at College Level. She joined NCC and participated in Republic Parade at Jaipur. It was all because she was determined to prove herself. She worked hard not only in Sports but also in Academics. She secured first division in Class XII & graduated. In her MBA, she secured distinction. She also became the Head Girl in her school and received the trophy of Excellence in Skill. With her hard work, perseverance & determination, she pushed herself to reach her goal.

It is rightly said that determination motivates us to improve ourselves, make positive changes in our lives, and increase our chances of success. It enables us to build dreams, live healthier lives, and strengthen our relationships with others.

Determination - Prerna Rathod

Determination means to stand firmly for what we believe in or support the truth no matter what others think or feel. Determination is one of the most important values that everyone should possess. Even if we face failure, then it is our determination and courage that helps us to try again and achieve our goals. A strong, determined person can meet and overcome any problems in life and provide strength to others.

I recall an incident in my life. When I was in college, my relative's daughter and son were very weak in their studies. Their parents were worried for them. They requested me to teach them. I agreed. When I went to teach them, I found that both of them couldn't read and write correctly. I decided to give up. But their mother pleaded with me to teach them. Then, I made up my mind that I would teach them. I worked hard with them, and in their final exam, they both scored good marks. Their parents were thrilled and thanked me a lot. It was my determination that could make helped me to make it possible. If I had given up at the start, there would be no one to help the children.

So one's determination can help others also to go through life's up and down.

Determination - Arvind Singh

Every champion has felt it; every victorious person has felt it, THE URGE to quit. Don't give up on your dream despite any circumstances. It may take you twice as long. Now you have to decide whether you are so concerned about accomplishing your goals. In this whole journey, what may play an important role is one and only DETERMINATION. How determined you are to do the things up and above. 'wake up with the determination and sleep with satisfaction. That is all you need to do.

Determination brings an urge to do the work in a person, and it may vary from person to person. In this age of competition, this is the only thing that will make u stand apart and high in your journey. Determination is followed by consistency, will urge, and NO EXCUSES. There are vast differences between I need something and I am determined about that particular thing. The other factor that helps is HOPE; it also plays a vital role, as a person holding their nerves with hope is invincible. A person must indulge in introspection just to assess their strengths and weakness.

I just want to conclude my opinion by saying 'A person with strong determination is the winner in himself. You have won half of the battle, champ.'

Determination - Pinkee Chouhan

What is determination?
Determination is the determination to do something despite a difficult situation. Resolve is the option that provides a ladder to get out of the hole instead of pushing the person to the pit of despair. There is limitless power in the will, due to which the goal is definitely accomplished.

How can you be determined? Let me share a real story of a 65-year-old lady Lata Kare Ji who lives in the Baramati district of Maharashtra. In the year 2014, her husband was suffering from a severe disease. The amount for the treatment was too much.  Her husband was an agricultural labourer and earned hardly one hundred and two hundred per day.  Raising the amount of therapy was very difficult for Lata Ji. But she wanted to see her husband alive at any cost.  That's when she heard about the organizing of the marathon and the prize money.  This made her feel a little light in complete darkness.  She had never participated in a running competition before.  Keeping in mind that most of the participants would be young, energetic and fully prepared, still, she ran in a sari and with slippers. Lata Kare was without sports shoes and without sports clothes. Her sandal broke in the middle of the way, but she did not pay any attention to it. She ran barefoot and finished the marathon.

Her determination brought her victory.  There is no solid formula to become more determined; when you want something from your heart, your determination will always be at its peak. Decision making is an intellectual and logical process, and perseverance here is related to the power of the mind.  We like to do physical activities like playing, walking, and watching movies.  Usually, our body wants comfort, so we choose situations where we have to suffer less, even during cognitive behaviour.  So we are not used to living on our own decisions.  Whenever we suffer more, our mind starts looking for excuses to change its own decision, and we also easily find reasons.  So if we want to develop determination, then we also need to practice it.  We should start with small efforts.  You can try it on small things too, such as the decision not to drink tea at a time, the decision to cut a few hours off from entertainment and follow these decisions.

Determination breaks the shackles of dilemma.  Success and failure in life are due to the mind.  The determination power of the mind keeps it engaged in continuous work. It often leads to success.  When the weakness of the mind makes a person weak while doing work, infuses despair in him, then there is a failure in the result.  Whenever a person becomes relaxed while working, the intellect also gives up. The willpower of the mind awakens immense strength in the body, also makes intellect sharp, due to which the person definitely gets success in that field.

The Brewing Knowledge Club - October Reflections

The sound of the train of the Brewing Knowledge Club shows that we are back to our old routine at school!
"An eager child or Enthusiastic teacher" was covered by Ms Veena Solanki. The students in the teacher's class are eager to learn something if the teacher is eager to share.  To make learning better, teachers can add enthusiasm, fun, and other elements as well, but that doesn't mean learning should stop. The teacher needs to make a good relationship with their students to give motivation, and the ‘boring' teacher is the one who is not able to recognize the eager child.

We see that if we want to change, we first need to change ourselves and Ms Monisha Datta made this more graceful by covering "Why Teachers are averse to change" when she boarded the train and shared her voice! Because teachers are playing a key role as changemakers they must update their methodology. As teachers are comfortable with their old teaching process, first they should change or update themselves, then they can change others. Why aren't teachers willing to change? Only a few people are interested in it, and they are doing it as a profession of chance and not of choice. They have lost their high place in history and culture, were stood long ago.

And our trip into the 2nd Section...

Redefining Education and Learning.

The first station of the second section is called "Reading at the Heart of Education", we've seen a life-long passing in the command of Mrs Bharti Rao. It is possible to make the spark of reading come alive with more logic and relevance.

The energetic and very enthusiastic Ms Nibbrati Rathore took us to the next station “Innovation and Design” shared the pressing need for innovation by students.  The reason why 'Jugaad' is working during a running class is that the system focuses on marks or students doesn't feel safe, it can be changed by some motivation.

The best part of the reading club is reflections. Today's reading left me pondering for a while after the session and I can put my thoughts in the following 4 points.

1) Educators need to have fun while teaching while being at school, else they'll go mental; this rule is fundamental!

But on a more serious note, we all need to remember the word fundamental begins with fun and includes mental stimulation and that's the key to being a good educator!

2) Educators are effective only when reflective

3) Reading is like Oxygen, we cannot survive without it!  Children and Educators need to read together, to grow together. Children are like seeds, they grow as per the soil, water and air provided to them and that soil, air, and water are their parents, community, and teachers. Their books are the sunlight that everyone needs! Encourage basking in the sun as this stimulates growth.

4) Finally, if the educator knows how to stimulate the students' minds, if they know how to have fun, if they are continuously researching and reading, nothing stops them from innovating. That's what Education is all about. Empowering our students to think differently and making it happen

It was a wonderful session. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Stay here for the endless learning experience, the club’s journey this month was passionate and we say, "Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost".

We will return soon with more graceful stations.
