Today, anywhere between 10% and 20% of technology startups in the Bay Area have Indian founders, according to Silicon Valley observers.
While Microsoft and Adobe Systems have Indian chief executives, companies such as Googleand WhatsApp have Indian-origin engineers in top positions. Encouraged by the recent burgeoning of India's e-commerce and internet industry, many Valley investors are now extending their ties to cities such as Bangalore, Pune and Gurgaon in search of the next big idea.
Kanwal Rekhi, sometimes described the godfather of Indian entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, says he plans to expand investments in Indian startups through his fund Inventus Capital Partners.
